Eli represents buyers and sellers of businesses with a particular focus on private equity, independent sponsors, searchfunders and self-funded searchers.

Eli has represented private equity groups on a range of complex private and public mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, venture capital investments, and other corporate matters.

Translation for non-lawyers: Eli helps people buy, sell or invest in companies along with assisting businesses in a range of other business advising.

Prior to law school, Eli served in the IDF special forces, Unit 217. Then, he started and sold a company focused on high-risk security.

Eli graduated from Baltimore County Community College with an AA degree, then from Johns Hopkins University (graduating in the top 1%), and finally, Georgetown Law.

Prior to joining SMB Law Group, Eli was an M&A lawyer at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, a top-10 international law firm.

  • its acquisition of McGraw-Hill for approximately $4.5 billion;
  • its acquisition of Solenis for approximately $5.25 billion;
  • its acquisition of Petmate for an undisclosed amount;
  • its acquisition of Cosmic Pet for an undisclosed amount; and
  • its acquisition of Pelican Products for an undisclosed amount.
• Insurity LLC, a portfolio company of GI Partners in various acquisitions, including:
  • its acquisition of AuSum Systems, a cloud-based insurance analytics company; and
  • its acquisition of Maprisk, an insurance geospatial analytics company.
• Swander Pace Capital in its acquisition of Mommy’s Bliss, a maker of dietary supplements.
• Liberty Hall Capital Partners in its acquisition of Comply365, a maker of software for airlines.
• Landsea Homes, a home builder, in its $510 million SPAC.
• MidOcean Partners in the acquisition by its portfolio company, Florida Food Products of Amelia Bay, LLC, a provider of freshly brewed tea extracts,
